Tongue Twisters

Unique New York
Three free throws
Red Leather, Yellow Leather
I thought a thought.
But the thought I thought wasn’t the thought I thought I thought.
One-One was a racehorse.
Two-Two was one, too.
When One-One won one race, Two-Two won one, too.
Say this sharply, say this sweetly,
Say this shortly, say this softly.
Say this sixteen times very quickly.
Rubber Baby Buggy Bumpers! (Repeat. Increase the tempo.)
Silly Sally swiftly shooed seven silly sheep.
The seven silly sheep Silly Sally shooed Shilly-shallied south.
These sheep shouldn’t sleep in a shack; Sheep should sleep in a shed.
I wish to wish the wish you wish to wish, but if you wish the wish the witch wishes, I won’t wish the wish you wish to wish.
She sells seashells on the seashore.
A proper copper coffee pot.
Toy boat. Toy boat. Toy boat.
How much wood could a wood chuck; chuck if a wood chuck could chuck wood.
Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers,
A peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked.
If Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers,
Where’s the peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked?

Listening Art Lesson 2

Hi guys!  Here is an OPTIONAL listening and art music lesson.  I loved seeing your IRIS posts with your artwork from the last one.

Materials: Visual Journal and anything you would like to use to create your piece of artwork

Source: Four Seasons - Spring by Vivaldi (please note this is a link to Youtube and I have no control over  the ads or the comments on the video)

Time: 30 mins or as long as you want if you listen to it a few times!

Task:  Step 1: Find a blank page to work on and get your art supplies readying your comfy cosy spot

Step 2: Decide which music you are going to listen to.  I am suggesting Spring by Vivaldi

Step 3: Listen to the piece!!!

Step 4: When you're ready, start creating your picture.  You can draw pictures or just use

                       lines/dots.  Whatever comes to mid.

Step 5: I want you to listen to the Tempo of the song (speed). Is it fast or slow? Does it change.

throughout? Try using the Tempo words on the chart below somewhere on your picture.

If you think the piece is mostly fast you might want to write the work presto, if you
think it's mostly slow you might write the word Largo.

Step 6: If you would like to share your art with me, post it in IRIS and tag me!

Thanks guys! Have a musical day!

Music Art Lesson

Hi Everyone,

I hope you enjoy this listening art activity.  Please remember that this is optional.  If you would like to upload your finished product to IRIS and tag me in it I would love to see them.

Materials: Anything you would like to make your artwork.  It can be pencil and paper, pencil crayons, chalk on the sidewalk (ok that's a stretch for today but maybe in a few weeks!), paint!

Step 1:  Pretend you're a detective! Find a comfy place to sit and just listen.  How long can you last

just sitting and listening to everything going on?  What do you hear?

Step 2: Pick your music.  I recommend The Planets by Gustav Holst.  Here is the link...   You don't

have to listen to the whole thing as it is very long, maybe just start with one planet, it is up to

you. I know everyone has different situations going on in their house right now.

Step 3: Listen... just listen... close your eyes if you want. Lie down if you want. It is up to you. Listen

to the instruments, the volume. What do you feel? What memories or stories pop into your

           head?

Step 4: Create your art! - you can draw pictures or just use lines. It is up to you, there is no wrong
            way to do this.

I hope this adds some calm to your life and gives you a chance to just be still! (Then do Mr. Der's movement activity and get active ;) ) Enjoy!

Recorder lesson A and B

I know we only just started the recorder but here is a rundown of what we talked about as well as the fingering for the notes A and B.  I also play a little song at the end for you.  I tried to attach the music and the sheet music but couldn't because of copyright, sorry!
